 Many people ask for lahul and spiti itinerary or want to know about kinnaur and spiti area.
This post is about itinerary of my travel to spiti and kinnaur on bike in 6 days.here i am giving tour plan of mine .

Spiti is a part of lahul and spiti District of himachal Pradesh . This valley lies near Indo – Tibbet border . mostly people visit spiti valley From manali . after Going Rohtang pass nearly 51 Km From Manali way goes to a diversion called Gramphoo . The straight road from here goes to Leh and Laddakh and U-turn goes to spiti valley. Mostly people choose visit chandratal , Kunzum la and kaza and back to manali . Some people extends this route from kaza to kinnaur district and then go to shimla . But we did just opposite of this route .

We decided to start this journey from the side of shimla via kinnaur , sumdo , kaza , kunzum la , rohtang and manali . Also we started this journey from Ghaziabad . I was on my 100 Cc bike hero passion pro 100 cc . my two friends join me at Chandigarh on their bullet thunderbird (500 cc) .

What was the Itinerary

Day 1 – I Start this journey from Ghaziabad (U.P) at 10 P.m and did 570 Km. till 6 P.M. covering Chandigarh – shimla – narkanda –nirath –rampur - sarahan ) . journey ends at Sarahan where we stay at our tent .

Day 2- We start early 7 A.M from Sarahan – Jury –(enter in kinnaur ) Taranda mata –sangla – Chitkul – sangla . Stay at sangla in a hotel .

Day 3 – Early Start From Sangla 6 A.M. – Shongtong bridge –Nako Village – malling nullah –Khardangpo – Sumdo – Giu village –Tabo . Stay at Tabo in own Tent .

Giu village – 9 Km from Sumdo A road goes to giu village . beautiful village is only 3 km from china border.

500 years old Mummy which is alive – 1 Km. from the village lies the small hamlet of giu which houses 500 years old mummy which is alive till today. A miracle indeed.

Tabo monastery – 46 Km. before kaza lies the village tabo . at an attitude of 3600 mtr from sea level tabo is the oldest monastery nearly 1100 years .

Day 4 – Start early at 6 A.M from Tabo – shichling – Dhankar fort and village – Kaza – Key monastery – Kibber village – losser – Kunzum la (4550mtr)– Chandratal – batal . Stay at batal at a Dhaba.

Dhankar monestry-when you reach shichling village you will see a monastery dangerously perched on a rickety hill top .

Kaza City –largest town of spiti valley and also a stop for fuel Kaza also known for its monastery and staying option. At an attitude of 3800 mtr from sea level kaza also has ATM and hospital facility.

Key monastery – located 12 km. from Kaza city the hill top monastery gives a perfect and pictures look . 4166 mtr from sea level this monastery gives better view of kaza valley.

Last and highest village Kibber – one time kibber was the highest village in this vally. 5 km from key monasterya narrow road goes to kibber village .

Losser

Kunzum la –after kaza and then losser a road climb up to kunzum la at an attitude of 4551 mtr from sea level . it called gateway of spiti from manali side . A small temple is situated at the top of pass . weather are extremely Very cold with chilled waves. Do not stop for a long time . for picture click here

Chandratal –The moon lake which can be reached by foot or light vehicle 14 km from main road . no accomondation available . you can stay at your tents .

Day 5 - Start early morning from Batal – Chhatru –gramphoo – Rohtang – Manali – Kullu . Stay at Kullu . Stay at a hotel at kullu bypass for some time sleeping .

Day 6 –Start from Kullu in morning 2 A.M. and reach Ghaziabad in the evening . 

Manali to delhi , मनाली से दिल्ली से घर वापसी ,कुल्लू की शाम day 5 last 

Total Cost of this Trip The Trip was nearly 1900 KM. and Total cost for petrol was 3000 Rs with average of nearly 50 . Staying in the hotel of sangla cost was 100 Rs for one person , In batal 50 Rs .and in kullu 300 Rs for me only. Two nights were in tent . so the total cost was 450 rs.

Food – I did lunch at narkanda (100) sarahan (60) jury (40) sangla (70) nako (100 ) Tabo (80) shichling (30) kaza (100) losser (30) batal (50) Gramphoo(50) manali (70) kullu (60 ) ambala highway (80) Total 920 Rs for food and 300 Rs for apples . Total was 1220

So the tour cost was 1220+450+3000=4670 For me
